Taipei , the capital of Taiwan, is a relatively small city of 3 million people but if you count its metropolitan area is extended to almost 7 million people. Taipei is therefore relatively small and is well connected by the metro network (MTR).
One of the most lively area s of the city and we recommend for accommodation is the area of Zhongshan .In Zhongshan you can find one of the main attractions of Taipei, the night market of Shillin, and where most of the temples are located to be visited as the temple dedicated to Confucius, or the temples of Bao-an, Hsiahai City God and Xingtian.

The temporary capital of the Republic of China, Taipei, is the most populous city in the country, it is the political, economic and cultural center and is well connected with other cities by high-speed train. The city is divided into 12 districts, however, for the location and good hotel offerings at affordable prices we recommend Zhongshan.
This district has many attractions and recreational areas, such as the Rongxing Garden Park, Xinsheng Park, Yingfeng Riverside Park, Meiti Riverside Park, Zhongshan Fine Arts Park and Dajia Riverside Park. There is also the children’s recreation area and the Suho Paper Memorial Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Jade Art Museum, and the National Shrine of the Martyrs of the Revolution, dedicated to those who died trying to turn China into a Republic.
Built on a green hill in 1969, the impressive National Martyrs’ Shrine was architecturally inspired by the Supreme Hall of Harmony in the Forbidden City of Beijing and is dedicated to the 390,000 soldiers who died in the service of their country during the War of Resistance against Japan and the civil war between the Republic of China and the communist forces.A great attraction at the shrine is the ceremony for the changing of the honor guard that takes place every hour in front of the main gate.
Among the temples, the Xingtian (Singtian) temple stands out, which was dedicated to the god of war, Guan Gong. Near the Yuanshan subway station is the Zhongshan soccer stadium, which was built where the U.S. headquarters were located during the occupation of Taiwan.
In Zhongshan there is a good variety of pubs and bars, and for shopping there is the Zhongshan Metro Mall.

In the Wanhua district you will find one of the city’s main temples, the Lungshan; a place of worship and meeting place for Chinese settlers.Near the famous temple, on Huaxi Street, you will find the Night Tourism Market, a place that once served snakes and turtles, but now specializes in seafood because of complaints from environmental groups.
Today, the night markets are famous among tourists and locals alike, as they present a variety of local delicacies at affordable prices. Some of the most famous markets are Huaxi Street Tourist Night Market, Xichang Street Night Market, Guangzhou Street Night Market, Wuzhou Street Night Market, and Nanjichang Night Market, where you can find many shops selling household items, hardware, jewelry, and herbs.
This is an area where it is not recommended to stay if you are on a family trip, because even though prostitution was banned in 1990, you can still easily find prostitutes in the former “red light district” of the city.
