5 Best Cheap Hostels in Holbox Island
This hostel is really great and I would have loved to stay here, but it was totally full when I went to book our trip to Holbox. They have 10 bed mixed dorms, 10 bed female dorms or six bed mixed dorms.there is not a big price difference between the two, about $2 cheaper for the 10 beds.
This place really books quickly.I checked the beds today in October and they are totally sold out.it is one of the cheapest places to stay in Holbox Island, with a bed for just over $10 per night.if you are traveling alone or with another friend and are looking to meet other travelers, this hostel will probably be your best option for some social interaction.
2.Hostel & Cabanas Round Trip Camping
I’m not kidding when I say that this place is basically booked for the next 365 days with free intermittent dates in between. They offer hammocks to sleep in, tent sites (you must bring your own tent), family rooms with some beds, bungalows with double beds and mixed dormitories.
As a Tribe, they are one of the cheapest places on the island. When we booked our hotel a few months ago, there were still a few hammock places left for our dates, but none of my other travel partners were interested.
Your stay includes breakfast which, according to the reviews, seems quite excellent and satisfies many different tastes. All I think is that there is a reason other than the price that keeps this place completely booked all the time and I want to experience for myself why.
3.Los Arcos ⭐ ⭐
I came very close to booking this place, as it was one of the only other budget options left when we booked our trip.it is totally basic and it is practically a glorified motel.A basic double room costs around $40 during the low season.
It’s in a good location, right on the main street of the island.you’re a quick walk from the beach and all the bars and restaurants.but there are no other amenities like kitchens or shared spaces to cook or eat.it’s just a hotel room.
If everything else is booked and you’re on a tight budget, it’s still a perfectly nice place to stay.I would definitely book here instead of spending another $30 just to have a more elegant place to stay.
4.Hotel Arena ⭐ ⭐
The Hotel Arena is a really cool and modern hotel, something small, right in the center of town.It has a small rooftop pool, a bar and some double rooms that are really reasonably priced (around $60 per night).
It is also one of the few places on the island that allows pets, so if you bring your four-legged friend, you will definitely want to visit this place.
The reviews are really positive and say that the Arena Hotel is a really social place where people end up chatting with other guests. even from our short visit it was easy to see that this place had a busy rooftop bar with live music most nights.
5.La Chaya Holbox ⭐⭐⭐
This hotel is really cool and would definitely be one of my choices of places to stay if I ever go back to Holbox. They have yoga on the rooftop, a funky bar on site and a cool relaxed atmosphere.
Every reservation includes a breakfast which, according to the reviews, sounds absolutely amazing.it is really located in the center of the city with many other bars and restaurants around.they have bikes that you can rent directly from them, which is amazing since we had to go out and find a place to rent them on our own.
If you want to take a dip, some of the rooms face the ocean so you can also have a view of the ocean.
